Wireless remote shutter

A wireless remote shutter is better than using a shutter release cable because it's wirless and allows us to be farther away from the camera. Not to far that camera can be stolen...

Some wireless remote triggers are cheap but they are typically infrared, works like a TV remote control, we have to be in front of the receiver at just a few meters, and some cameras only have a front receiver. Triggers that use radio signals are more expensive (too expensive if it's brand official) but allow better ranges. Some camera also has wirless connections embedded.

It is relatively simple to make a wireless remote trigger using components that exist on the market.
We can use a wireless doorbell, when we click on the button instead of playing a song in the receiver just closes an eletric circuit and the camera takes a picture.
The hard part is to identify which wire is responsible to play the song.
To control the shutter we can use an integrated circuit, like MAX4686 or similar and a jack 2.5mm plug cable to connect to the camera.

In Canon, if we put something in the flash hot shoe that presses the micro switch on the side, the flash will not fire. To avoid this we can reduce the thickness of the receiver support, as shown in the picture below.
