Guimarães é uma cidade e município Português do norte, no distrito de Braga, Portugal. O Castelo de Guimarães, é um castelo medieval no concelho de Guimarães, na região norte de Portugal. Foi mandada construir por D. Mumadona Dias, no século 10, a fim de defender o seu mosteiro de ataques de Mouros e dos Normandos. O castelo é uma fortificação militar do final do período românico e elaborado durante a época gótica da arquitetura Portuguesa. The Castle of Guimarães, is a medieval castle in the municipality Guimarães, in the northern region of Portugal. It was ordered constructed by D. Mumadona Dias in the 10th century in order to defend its monastery from attacks by Moors and Norman. The castle is a military fortification grounded primarily in the late Romanesque period and elaborated during the early Gothic epoch of Portuguese architecture.
